50 mins // Channel News Asia Investigative Documentary Series
Renowned international journalist, Baker Atyani, was the last reporter to interview Osama Bin Laden before 9/11. But whilst filming in the Philippines a decade later, he was taken as a hostage by the most brutal of kidnappers, Abu Sayyaf. He survived for a year and a half in the jungle at the hands of ISIS.
Now, Baker returns to the homeland of his abductors, as they threaten more with execution, and he questions why ISIS have announced the Philippines as its new Asian base. As Baker tries to search for a negotiator for the latest victims, a breakthrough comes when he meets intelligence officers searching for his own abductors.
